Denpasar tours & tickets

City walks, food, Sanur activities, transfers and the Bali day trips that start on Denpasar’s doorstep.

Denpasar is not a city of big-ticket attractions; it rewards being shown around. A good guide turns Badung Market from a confusing maze into the best meal of your trip, and makes sense of the temple, the museum and the square next to them.

We will be honest about the choice: GetYourGuide lists only a small number of tours that take place inside Denpasar itself, and a couple of them have very few reviews. So this page pairs the genuine city tours with well-reviewed Sanur activities, reliable airport transfers and the island’s best-selling day trips, all of which are easy from a Denpasar or Sanur hotel. Every tour below is a real, currently listed product; prices are indicative “from” prices and the booking page shows the live rate in your currency.

Denpasar tour FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Are there guided tours of Denpasar city?

Yes, though not many. The best reviewed are a three-hour heritage and street-food walk around Badung Market and a five-hour museum, market and food-tasting tour starting at Puputan Square. A full-day city highlights tour also covers Pura Jagatnatha and the Bajra Sandhi monument.

Do tours pick up from hotels in Denpasar and Sanur?

Most Bali day trips offer hotel pickup in south Bali, which normally includes Sanur and often central Denpasar. City walking tours usually start at a meeting point such as Puputan Square or Badung Market. Always check the pickup area on the booking page.

Can I cancel a tour if my plans change?

Most GetYourGuide experiences can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. The exact policy is shown on each booking page.

Should I book the Nusa Penida trip in advance?

In the dry-season months and around holidays, yes: boats and drivers fill up. Booking a day or two ahead is usually enough at other times. Boats leave from Sanur harbour in the morning.

Is it better to take a tour or hire a driver?

For the city itself a walking tour with a guide gives you far more than a driver can. For day trips, a private tour with a customisable itinerary is effectively a driver with a plan; the price difference is usually small.
